Trunk Sewer

Urban construction site with drilling rig

based in Southern California ABI Mobileram Trunk Sewer This project involved installing a deep sheet pile shaft to control groundwater and access an existing sewer line 35 feet below grade. Our crew drove 50-foot sheets using the ABI Mobilram, working just 15 feet from an active powerline—requiring precise equipment handling and enhanced safety measures throughout the operation.

Pedestrian Bridge

Crawler drill rig and concrete pump truck

based in Southern California CIDH Piles Pedestrian Bridge This project involved installing permanent CIDH piles for bridge abutments to support a new pedestrian bridge. Due to challenging ground conditions—including significant caving and large cobble—the use of our Soilmec SR45 and Leffer casing was essential to successfully complete the installation.

Shaft 4

Construction workers operating excavator under highway overpass

based in Southern California Giken UP150/HVR100 Shaft 4 This project required installing a sheet pile shaft beneath an existing bridge with just 23 feet of overhead clearance, making access extremely limited. Our crew spliced and installed 35-foot sheet piles using the Giken UP150 and HVR100, specifically selected for their ability to operate in tight, low-clearance conditions. The shaft was needed to block groundwater and provide access to an existing sewer line 20 feet below grade.

Emergency Release Facility

Crawler piling rig drilling at construction site

based in Southern California Beam and Plate Lagging Emergency Release Facility This project involved installing a temporary shoring wall using our Soilmec SR45 in challenging wet and hard ground conditions. The shoring system provided critical support to an existing roadway, enabling safe excavation and relocation of utilities.

MPC

Blue pile drilling rig under bridge construction site

based in Southern California Limited Access MPC For this project, we utilized a limited-access drilling rig to install temporary beam and plate shoring for a new utility line. The work area presented significant constraints, including only 15 feet of overhead clearance beneath an existing bridge and wet ground conditions, requiring specialized equipment and beam splicing to successfully complete the installation.

NOS Emergency Repair

Construction crane lifting pile by highway overpass

based in Southern California Giken Silent Piler Auger Crush NOS Emergency Repair This emergency project involved the installation of 65-foot sheet piles to safely access a fragile, existing sewer line located 50 feet below grade. Due to sensitive site conditions and the sewer line’s vulnerability, vibration-free methods were essential. Our team utilized the Giken Silent Piler with Auger Crush to successfully navigate extremely challenging ground conditions, including large cobble. Upon completion of the sheet pile shaft, our crew installed and welded a three-ring waler support system to ensure stability.

North Hollywood

Tracked drilling rig at urban construction site

based in Southern California Tiebacks North Hollywood This project involved installing a shoring system to support an existing vault prior to the construction of a new groundwater remediation facility. The system utilized beam and wood lagging with tiebacks to ensure stability during adjacent excavation and construction activities.

United Airlines

Construction site with geotextile and drilling rig

based in Southern California Beam and Plate Lagging United Airlines This project involved the installation of a beam and plate pit using the ABI Mobilram system. The shoring consisted of 40-foot beams and 12-foot plates, providing structural support for a Drainage Retention System.

P1-105

Drilling rig and workers at construction site

based in Southern California ABI Press In P1-105 This project involved installing two permanent sheet pile walls around a live sewer line to protect it while providing access for the installation of two new adjacent lines. Because the existing line was active, a vibration-free method was critical. Our team used the ABI Press-In Method to safely install 30-foot sheets with zero vibration, maintaining the integrity of the live line throughout the operation.
